Accessing the World of Work: Concerns of African Americans with Disabilities Seeking Employment

Project Summary:

The purpose of this project is to identify the barriers to employment encountered by African Americans with disabilities and the policy and practice changes required to remove those barriers. Researchers will mail a Concerns Report to 250 participants to gather data regarding employment barriers. Focus groups of consumers, vocational rehabilitation counselors, and other service providers will provide input regarding employment needs and program and policy responses.
