A Qualitative Methodology for Examining the Ticket to Work Program Among African American Disabled in Chicago, IllinoisPrincipal Investigator: Carmelita Grady Project Type: Small Grant Project Year: 04 Thematic Category: Return to Work Project Summary: The effectiveness of the Ticket program in reaching members of the African American community will be explored to improve program development and implementation. The results of focus groups will guide the development of a questionnaire that will allow researchers to collect quantitative data within the African American community that is representative of the specific cultural nuances of that community. Afrocentrism, an African-centered philosophical perspective where words are used to interpret actions, will guide this work. Deliverables include a summary of each focus group, the questionnaire, and a list of recommendations. |
